EGO Power+ from Baumgartner in the Racing Routine of Team Bolliger

For many years, the relationship between Team Bolliger and the Baumgartner family has been much more than a traditional friendship. Today, EGO Power+ equipment has become an integral part of the demanding day-to-day operations of the Swiss endurance racing team.

For decades, Team Bolliger has been Switzerland’s most renowned motorcycle endurance racing team and is also recognised internationally as one of the sport’s most respected names. The family-run team from the Limpach Valley regularly competes in prestigious 24-hour races and has earned an outstanding reputation in the international endurance racing scene through passion, technical expertise and exceptional teamwork. Behind these successes are not only racing and engineering excellence, but also long-standing companions such as the Baumgartner family.

Connected Since Childhood

The relationship between Team Bolliger and Ernst Baumgartner AG (Lätti, Bern) has long extended far beyond a conventional sponsorship agreement. The connection began through Urs Baumgartner, who supported Team Bolliger as a mechanic and assistant, spending countless hours alongside Hans-Peter “Hämpu” Bolliger in workshops and race paddocks.

Over the years, this developed into a close friendship between the Baumgartner and Bolliger families, a bond that is now being continued by the next generation. Mathias and Marcel Baumgartner, together with Kevin Bolliger, practically grew up together. From an early age, they shared a passion for motorcycles and later rode motocross together.

Particularly in endurance racing, strong partnerships are invaluable. For many years, Team Bolliger has been able to rely on the support of the Baumgartner family, whether at events, through infrastructure and equipment, or simply through a helping hand whenever needed. The true strength of this friendship became especially evident following the serious truck accident last winter, in which the team lost a significant part of its infrastructure.

Through Mathias Baumgartner, the team was eventually introduced to EGO Power+ equipment. Today, these powerful battery-powered tools are firmly established in Team Bolliger’s daily racing operations. In particular, the leaf blowers and the large fan are used regularly to cool the motorcycles quickly and efficiently during periods of extreme heat.

A perfect example was the 24 Hours of Barcelona. Despite exceptionally high temperatures, Team Bolliger not only completed important testing but also went on to win the race. In situations like these, every detail matters. During longer pit stops and immediately after practice sessions, the team used EGO Power+ leaf blowers to cool the motorcycles and keep temperatures under control. As a result, these tools have become far more than ordinary equipment—they are now an essential part of the team’s racing routine.

For Team Bolliger, this partnership is therefore something truly special. It is built not only on products or sponsorship, but on trust, friendship and a shared history that has grown over many years.
